Metro Exodus System Requirements Revealed for 1080p, 1440p and 4K Ultra

Following on from our Metro 3 predicted requirements and FPS results for Metro Exodus earlier this week, these system specs were right in line with what we were expecting. Metro Exodus is quite comfortably one of the most demanding games ever released on PC.
Thankfully, if you're happy playing Metro Exodus on PC at 1080p/30fps in line with the base console experience, the minimum specs for Metro 3 are forgiving. You'll need a 2GB DX11 video card such as the GeForce GTX 670 or Radeon HD 7870. For modern equivalents, you can look toward the GeForce GTX 1050 or the Radeon RX 550. Which graphics card you have, Metro Exodus requires a quad-core CPU as a minimum.
For a great experience playing Metro Exodus at 1080p with stable frame rates, you'll need a high-end graphics card. The GeForce GTX 1070 or Radeon RX Vega 56 can run Metro: Exodus at 1080p/ 60 frames per second on High, while the GeForce RTX 2060 can handle the ray-traced lighting at 1920 x 1080 screen resolution.
If you have a 1440p monitor then you will need a top-end gaming system to run Metro Exodus at your native resolution. 1440p Ultra graphics at 60 FPS in Metro Exodus requires the top-end previous-gen video cards - either the GTX 1080 Ti from Nvidia or the Radeon RX Vega 64 from AMD. If you want to play Metro Exodus at 1440p with ray-traced graphics you'll need a $600 GeForce RTX 2070. You will also need a hexa-core processor with high clock speed, along with 16GB RAM.
And last but not least, the Extreme system requirements for Metro Exodus. These are the system specs you'll need to get Metro Exodus looking its absolute best at 4K resolution. You'll need a PC that costs a few thousand dollars to meet these specs, including a top-of-the-line $1200 GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, an 8-core i9-9900K CPU, and 16GB RAM.
The recommended specs for Metro Exodus were right in line with our predictions a few days ago. We used this data to help predict Metro Exodus FPS benchmarks for a range of AMD Radeon and Nvidia GeForce GPUs across both 1080p and 4K.
